Meet the Jazz Musicians

This powerhouse jazz quartet blends groove, soul, and artistry into an unforgettable live experience. Mike Filer anchors the sound on bass with his earthy tone and deep, soulful drive, shaped by years of performing jazz, R&B, and blues. Angelo Leo, a dynamic saxophonist with over 10 million streams, brings warmth, energy, and precision to every performance. At the piano, Nawfel Djari adds expressive depth and sophistication, weaving melodies that reflect his rich international background. Jensen Grant drives the rhythm on drums with tight, tasteful grooves and infectious energy that make the whole band swing.

Adding an extra touch of magic, singer and circus aerialist Julia Drew Watt will accompany the group on vocals for select songs — blending smooth jazz tones with captivating stage presence for a performance that’s as dynamic as it is soulful.

Julia has performed as an aerialist since 2015, as a singer and musician for more than 20 years, and as an actress for even longer than that. She loves to bring power, musicality and humour to her performances, moving the audience to joy, chills or laughter.

Mike Filer (Bass)

Mike house-jacks the foundation for many musical projects with a devotion to the groove. He prefers an earthy approach, supporting the music with his deep double bass and funky electric basses. Bringing his veteran experience playing countless gigs with jazz, R n' B, and classic blues bands, Mike has no problem driving from the back seat with a beefy and soulful bass style. He draws inspiration from bass legends Matt Gruebner, James Jamerson, Paul Chambers, Ray Brown, and Duck Dunn. "Being a multi-role kind of player in different projects is cool," Mike says, "And playing the music you love with the best cats around is a life goal attained."

Angelo Leo (Saxophone)

Angelo Leo is a saxophonist with 10M+ streams and the Founder of A. Leo Consulting. Each year, he performs and oversees 200+ events and 50+ weddings, crafting unforgettable, high-impact musical experiences through thoughtful curation, performance excellence, and a people-first approach.
